Vietnam's YouTube trending board is a public list of the videos currently watched most in the country, and it refreshes hourly. That has two consequences: it is always current, and two runs in the same morning can return different results.
What the tool returns
Trends — 8 credits per run — returns the YouTube Vietnam trending board across four categories: general, music, gaming and film, with views, likes and comments, refreshed hourly.
An important note: this is YouTube trending, not TikTok trending. For sounds climbing on TikTok, use sound radar — 8 credits, 30 sounds.
Four categories and who should read which
| Category | Use it for |
|---|---|
| General | knowing which topic holds national attention this week |
| Music | knowing which track is being listened to, for choosing sound |
| Gaming | the gaming niche, and products sold to gamers |
| Film | knowing what people are talking about, for titling related videos |
General is the category most people open and fewest people use. Music is the one immediately usable by content makers in any niche.
Reading it into content ideas
Do not read it to be informed. Read it to answer three questions:
1. Is there a topic I can speak to without straining? If three trending videos cover one topic, plenty of people are searching for it.
2. Which track is climbing that I can use? Cross-check with sound radar to see whether it has reached TikTok yet.
3. What do these videos' titles have in common? The trending board is a free sample of title patterns that currently work.
The third question is the most usable and the least used. Write down ten titles and look for the repeated pattern.
Three things the board does not say
Which video will trend next. It is a snapshot of now.
Why a video trended. It may be the content, an event, or paid promotion.
Whether it fits your channel. Chasing everything on the board is the fastest way to lose your channel's identity. See catching trends without losing your brand.
Combining with channel data
If you make YouTube content, read the trending board alongside YouTube channel report — 5 credits, 50 posts — for two or three channels in your niche. The board tells you what the country is watching; the channel report tells you what your niche is doing.
Frequently asked questions
Does refreshing hourly mean I have to run it hourly? No. It means what you get is current. Twice a week is plenty for a content calendar.
Can I download videos from the board? No. The YouTube media stream endpoint was removed from the system over copyright exposure.
Is there a trending board for other countries? This tool covers Vietnam.
