Turning viewer comments into a list of video topics

Also available in: Tiếng Việt

The best source of content ideas is not a trend list. It is the question your customers are typing under your videos and your competitors' that nobody has answered. A video that answers one specific question almost always holds attention better than a video chasing a trending sound.

Three kinds of comment worth mining

Kind 1 — repeated questions. The same question appearing many times means many people share the doubt. Each repeated question is a video.

Kind 2 — objections. "Too expensive", "the other one is cheaper", "I tried it and it did nothing". Each objection is a video, and this kind is usually the most persuasive because it says out loud what the viewer is thinking.

Kind 3 — accounts of experience. Viewers describing what they did and how it went. This is your source of real examples, and also of angles you had not considered.

Kind 2 is the most overlooked. Most content makers read an objection and move on because it is uncomfortable, when it is the place with the most work available.

The process

Step 1. Run comments analysis — 12 credits, up to 300 comments — on three videos: your own with the most comments, your nearest competitor's, and one of yours older than three months.

The third matters: late comments are usually people who used the product and came back.

Step 2. Sort into the three kinds above, discarding generic praise.

Step 3. For each question or objection, write one line as a video title. Do not overthink — the first title is usually the best because it uses the viewer's own words.

Step 4. Rank by how often it repeated, not by which topic you find interesting.

Three videos is 36 credits and usually yields 10–20 ideas, enough for a month.

Why this beats a trend list

Three reasons:

The right words. You use the viewer's own name for the problem, so your video matches what they search.

Demand is already confirmed. A real person asked. With a trend you are guessing.

It does not dilute your audience. A video answering a customer's question attracts more customers, not people who came for comedy. See catching trends without losing your brand.

One thing to do at the same time

The most repeated question should be answered in three places: its own video, the first ten seconds of later videos, and the product description. See why a million-view video produces no orders.

Boundaries to remember

The tool returns only a display name and the comment text — no email, no phone number, no commenter profile. Anyone has the right to see, correct or delete data about themselves under Decree 13/2023/ND-CP at the data request page.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I read comments? Monthly is enough for a content calendar. Read again after any large video.

Should I reply to every comment? Replying to questions is worth it and raises engagement. But finding ideas needs reading in clusters, not one by one.

Does the tool label sentiment? No. It returns comments and repeated phrases; the reading is yours.
