Buying stock on instinct is the fastest way to lose money on TikTok Shop. Three sources of public data answer most of the questions worth asking before you put down a deposit: which products are actually moving, what buyers are complaining about, and when competitors go live. This page arranges every article in that order.

Why the effort pays

In the first half of 2026 Vietnam's four large marketplaces recorded roughly USD 10.2 billion in gross merchandise value, with TikTok Shop at 43.4% market share, up 27% year on year (Vietnam Briefing, accessed 21/09/2026). The market is large enough that a small niche can work, and crowded enough that buying the wrong stock means dead inventory.

Where to start

You do not know what to sell yet. Read finding products that are selling then researching a niche before you buy stock.

You have a product but not the words. Read reading comments under competitor selling videos and what buyers complain about most. This is a better source of content ideas than any trend list.

You are preparing to go live. See watching a competitor's live sessions and which live time slots have an audience.

The tools that go with it

Job Tool Price Limit per run
Find products by keyword TikTok Shop radar 15 credits 3 pages of results
Read one video's comments Comments analysis 12 credits 300 comments
Check whether channels are live Live radar 10 credits 5 channels

Live radar tells you only whether a live room is open right now, how many people are watching, and whether products are attached. It is not a revenue leaderboard, and it is not an account status checker — CIA does not build that feature.

What public data does not say

No marketplace publishes a shop's real revenue. What you can read is the units-sold figure the product page displays, the comment count, and live viewer numbers. Every competitor revenue figure you see anywhere is multiplied out from these.

That does not make the data useless. It makes it comparable: product A showing ten times the units of product B in the same niche is a real signal, even though you know neither absolute revenue. Read relative rank, not absolute numbers.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see a competitor's revenue? No. No public source has that figure. You can compare displayed units sold and their level of activity.

Why read 300 comments? To find the question buyers keep asking that your video has not answered. Most selling videos fail because they skip one question everybody has in mind.

Does live radar show a schedule? No. It shows status at the moment you run it. To learn the pattern, run it at several times and write down what you see.
